I just finished reading the book called,"Don't Make Me Count to Three". It's written by a mom of 2 that desires to train her children to obey God's word through the way she disciplines them. I won't go into too much detail about the book, however, she kept using the word train to describe her role with her kids. I loved this concept & immediately wanted to share.
Let me explain:
I am a personal trainer & I am very passionate about what I do. I love encouraging others.
I am also a mother (trainer @ home)& I am very passionate about what I do. I love to love on my family.
One thing that humbled me this past week while reading this book was the fact that I had ever struggled with picking up & leaving my JOB to come & be Mama/Wife for the baseball season. Not that I haven't wanted to be that role because believe me I want to spend every moment given to me with my 2 boys! They are my life. However, I do want the best of both worlds sometimes... who doesn't, right? ha. Well, guess what? I am just as much a trainer today at home than I am back in Oklahoma at my gym. I am called to train my kids to be followers of Christ. Moms, you are the most influential part of your children's life! Did you know that? I knew that but didn't quite get it for a long time... do you?? Motherhood is the biggest job you will ever have & by far the best pay!
I am humbled & excited to take on the challenge of motherhood with a new perspective. I hope to reflect Christ in the way I discipline Jace so that someday he to will come to know Christ (jeremy does too!). I know there will be days when I mess up... probably more than the days I do things right. All in all I will pray to be the best trainer I can be.... in the gym & in the home. One thing I have learned as a trainer is that if you just tell your clients what to do & do not lead by example they are less likely to follow through with the advice, however, if you lead by example they will follow. Same with discipleship. Lead by example. I want to lead by example in the home & in the gym.
What kind of trainer are you?
What kind of example are you setting?
See yesterday's run here. Going 6 today!
Today's tip: This is a great article on protein & everything you need to know about it. It backs up my advice: Lesser the legs, healthier the protein! Enjoy!
***Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the chance to win one of my favorite things in my give-a-way!!!
Have a healthy Saturday!
